  1. “Major” corresponds to the general direction of the grain, wherein the outer layer is parallel to the length of the CLT. On the other hand, “Minor” indicates the general direction of the grain, wherein the outer layer is perpendicular to the length of the CLT. For example, 3-layer-4-ply in the major direction and 3-layer-4-ply in the minor direction, abbreviated as 3-4-Ma and 3-4-Mi, respectively
